Tired of video games? Try this classic!Nov 09, 2000
By Gwyneth Calvetti My 14 year old son constantly berides us for remaining Nintendo-free. So imagine his surprise, when at his 14th birthday party his like-minded guests discovered "Twister," declaring it an "awesome" game. We all know this goofy game, the one that "ties you up in knots." The boomer-echo kids haven't had the same experience with these silly games, and it is a real novelty to them. The funniest photos from said birthday party show these hip kids dissolving into giggles as the pile collapses on the mat. There is even somewhat of an educational aspect to this game. To be successful, some advance planning and spatial relations skills are helpful in avoiding the inevitable collapse. This generation of kids has not always had the same level of hands-on spatial experience we enjoyed when tearing apart items from the junk heap. "Twister" is a fun way for kids to get some of this experience for themselves. As for their parents, I move MUCH more slowly with my 40-something muscles, but it's still a blast to play with the kids!

It's a blast!Mar 15, 2005
By PianoPlayer8816 I have played this for years at birthday parties, but finally got one of my own last summer. So I took it to a Summer Youth Camp with me...and about 25 of us teens took turns on there. It was such a blast!
The only thing I would say is, if you have back or neck problems, you might want to skip this one. Or you could always be the spinner person. Either way, this one's tons of fun!

Best game to take to college!Aug 17, 1999
No matter how many college parties I've been to, the ones that played twister were the best! Buy four and play ULTIMATE TWISTER with 12 people. Great way to meet members of the fairer sex. Also great for birthday parties for children. Definitely one game you don't want to be left without!

Contortionism for the MassesSep 26, 2005
By Bu-Chan This game is probably one of the simplest, but also most difficult games to play well. It requires a level of dexterity that can easily become unmanageable, though it is extremely entertaining to see people try.
The game mat is pretty strong, made of thick plastic sheeting that can stand up to most punishment a crowd can dish out. It is recommended that one should play without shoes, as instructed, as this will preserve the playing mat for longer.
The game is great at parties, if you want something fun for everyone, (including adults). However, those with flexibility or joint problems might want to exercise caution.
In short, "Twister" is a fun game for just about anywhere that a group of people are. It is simple, hard, and lots of fun, (even for the spectators).
