1Broken out of the boxNov 05, 2010
By Kia Mennie
Ours was broken from the get-go -- it would take one or two pictures and shut itself off, and stay off until it had been recharged for an extended period.

I would not negatively review a product on that basis, getting a random lemon, if not for:

-- it being obvious that this is a really really low-end camera. It is very cheaply built, very lightweight. Pix were terrible, blurry and with a bad flash brightening only one part of the snap.

-- the high price vs the dreadful quality; this is a $20 item at best

-- the terrible response we received from "Digital Blue."

After some useless and not particularly polite non-responses from the "Digital Blue" people, I ended up writing to Lego to suggest they re-consider their subsidiaries. This camera is NOT Lego-level quality.

2Terrible flash and view screenJan 04, 2010
By Wayne & Sarah
So I got this camera for my 4 year old. She likes it, but she is 4. She likes any toy that is pink and works.

To an adult, this camera isn't worth 20 bucks, much less 50. The build quality is solid, and it is neat that you can attach legos to it. However, the flash whites EVERYTHING out and the view finder is dark as all get out.

4Great camera for the money!Jun 13, 2010
By San Jose IT Guy "SJ IT Guy"
This camera has a higher than normal resolution for kids cameras, and it's fairly rugged. Our have been dropped and kicked around a bit and they work fine. When I forgot my 'grown up' camera at a birthday party, I was able to use my youngest daughter's LEGO Camera and it worked fine. The pictures are a bit dark, but they sharpened up fine in Picasa.

5Despite the flash issue, this is a GREAT camera toyAug 17, 2011

I mean seriously, take it for what it is; Its a beginner camera for a child!

CONS: only one; the flash is overpowering when up close, and not enough far away. True. But, that is the art of learning photography. Our 6 year old has used the HELL out of this camera and learned when to turn off the flash or adjust her distance. A great teaching tool.

PROS: everything else. This camera is sturdy. The buttons are simple for a 6 year old to learn and use. The screen is nice. It holds a TON of picture. At one point she asked me to put her pics in the computer. There were 186 pictures and it wasn't full!!! Further, data transfer is disgustingly easy! No software needed: just drag and drop.
Another PRO: every time she takes this out, she becomes SUPER-popular. Everyone from other kids to adults want to know how she built a Lego camera, or where to buy it.
Last week for her birthday we took her to LEGOLAND here in Texas. Even the employees asked where in the world she got the camera. She built stuff on and under it while there! She even bought a Lego princess figure and now she sits on the Camera. On that same trip my DSLR battery died so I started using this Lego camera and got some really nice pics with it.

Yea it seems expensive but we feel it was worth it. We have had it for over a year. Its in perfect working order, and its traveled often.

This is a GREAT toy for a kid, really!

4Great little camera, but don't drop it...Jan 06, 2011
By D. Britz
Our daughter received this camera for Christmas. She loves it and it seems to work fine. My only caution is that the case material is as soft as (or softer than) Lego blocks. What that means is if you drop it on pavement it WILL easily get dings. I learned that the hard way on Christmas day...

One nice feature is that the base of the camera and parts of the top are real Lego blocks, which means a child could build the camera into a Lego structure.
