Pretty good figureFeb 13, 2010
I bought this one elsewhere, and it is a really nice figure. The spear and dagger fit well in the hands, but the head is a lighter color than the rest, which looks weird. All in all, I would recommend it.

Avatar Jake SullyAug 19, 2010
By dak These Avatar Movie Masters toys are fun toys and well-made. They have many articulation points so you can pose them in lots of different ways, they can even stand alone. They are pretty accurate in terms of details and their appearance is quite close to the characters in the movie.

Ok, but not the best I've seenJan 11, 2010
By Vendelin Initial review -- see addendum for additional info.
The likenesses are ok, but a laser scan of the actors/actresses like they had for Lord of the Rings figures would have made these Avatar action figures much truer to what we saw on the screen. The points of articulation are well done. Since these figures are scantily clothed, the joints need to be smooth, and these are.
The figures are very small. I really wish they'd been full-sized action figures. They were probably made tiny to keep costs down. It's a great toy at an affordable price, not complaining. But maybe you can create a deluxe model for the avid collector?
If by "educational value" you mean educating the general action-figure collecting public about the fauna, flora, mecha, and invaders of the planet Pandora, found in the movie Avatar, then it's very educational. The movie itself teaches that we should have a reverence for nature (and that we earthlings really need to work on this). So yeah, it's educational.

Warning: It's the larger JakeFeb 17, 2010
By Dannyboy If you purchase the creatures, you should buy the 4.25 inch Jake. This one is the jolly-blue giant next to the creatures at 6 in tall. He's too big to ride the banshee or other creatures.
