Cute little castle for imaginative play with SquinkiesAug 21, 2011
By Talvi This castle is designed to be a coin dispenser and playset (on the box it says "Wedding Surprize! Castle). You insert Squinkie coins (or pennies or dimes), turn the dial, and out comes a Squinkie in a ball (just like at the grocery store).
This set comes with:
-Castle with stairs, gates that open and close to dispense the Squinkies, turning stand for 2 Squinkies, little open up side door, and a turret design on top that opens to fill the dispenser. -Ring (for a child to wear a Squinkie) -Chair (for Squinkie to sit on) -4 Squinkie coins -2 princes, one blonde and one with brown hair -2 princesses, one blonde and one with brown hair -Horse -Pink animal -6 round clear holders (with little holes in the sides so your squinkies can breathe, of course). They are not easy to open or to close correctly.
Squinkies are little soft and squishy rubbery-plastic toys. If your child likes pretend play, there's a good likelihood that he or she will like Squinkies. If not, this will probably have a very short play time. The box has two warnings:
Choking Hazard - small parts and small balls. Not for children under 3 years. Note: if left on pencils or other objects Squinkies may warp or tear.
They are small and I'd definitely not recommend that they get taken into a home with small children/babies. They tend to go missing frequently and the ones with hair are just a little bit easier to find. My daughter likes playing with them in the bathtub.
These are "collectible" only in the sense that there are a lot them:
Girls -Disney (10 series) -Barbie (4 series) -Hello Kitty (3 series) -Cubes and Spheres (6 series) -'Toons (6 series) -Doos (12 series) -Bubble Pack (18 series) -Easter Packs
Boys -Hot Wheels (3 series) -Cars 2 (5 series) -Marvel Universe (2 series) -Bubble Pack (3 series)
Then there are jewel cases, rings, bracelets, salon & spa, palace, tea set, gumball playhouse, cupcake playhouse, spiderman dispenser, skull cavern dispenser, globie dispenser...many designed like the candy/bubblegum/toy dispensers at the grocery store. You put in Squinkie money (or a dime or penny), and out comes a surprise. I'm sure I'm missing some, but it's a pretty big and growing universe.
So even though there are no "rare" or even "uncommon" Squinkies (every package has the same ones, though there are 4 that you can only get by buying the DS game), the likelihood is that kids can trade with friends if they want to. I saw this for twenty bucks at a local store.

It's cute, it's a squinkie thing, which my daughter wanted.. she's 4. But, she played with it like 2 times and has lost all interest in the thing. What the heck are squinkies anyway? They look like something you'd get out of a gumball machine. To me, this is just an overpriced dispenser. And, the little domes that they come in are a pain to keep closed. I'd say save your money.
what u see is what u get.Apr 28, 2012
By olives Its exactly what u see my 7 yr old wanted but played with it maybe twice . Its jus not alot to it but if your child likes then a great toy. if you like squinkies. Nothing wrong with it at all jus didnt keep her attention. (7)
Not Much To It But Fun For Squinkie LoversJan 26, 2012

My younger daughters are both big fans of the new Squinkie fad. So, I purchased this set for Christmas. There is really not much to it. I think my daughter was a little disappointed in what there was to actually play with. But, there were some squinkies to add to her ever growing collection. And the gumball/castle design is cute and entertaining.
