Aquasand does not have staying power for either children or parents. It takes too long to clean up, and different colors are immediately blended with each other

We recently purchased this product for our grandchildren ages 5 1/2 & 4. They were excited when seeing the box because of the advertisement on TV. The sand is fascinating because it doesn't get wet however the paper scene would not stay adequately attached to the back of the bowl, the bottom (that lights & holds batteries) does not properly attach to the bottom of the bowl, and the bowl itself becomes filmy. After all the sand is poured into the container,some of the sand floats to the top of the water and it's a huge filthy mess.
We haven't had this item a month. The children like pouring the sand out of the bottle into the water and then they move on to the next toy.
I just finished cleaning the bowl and filtering sand back into one of the bottles for next time. We initially considered purchasing other colors however after this experience, will refrain.
This was originally marked $19.99 at Toys R Us and we got it on sale for $9.99 - still TOO much money spent.

I have four kids.. we have owned every art & crafts toys there are .. we love moon doh, moon sand, play-doh, clay .. all kinds of things.. messy or not.. This isn't worth the prices on here or the much lower at your retail chains (check it out maybe 5-7 dollars for this at the most) .. first of all you can make this.. if you wanna see the only cool thing abou it and that is that it doesn't get wet.. otherwise, not much fun .. but for making a mess and I am all down for it if it takes longer then a minute of attention from my child before the house is trashed and she/he is done!
I would have to consider buying this (knowing what I know) if it was at the dollar tree! ..

My son received this as a birthday gift. We played with it one time and it was thrown away. It seems like an interesting concept however it is very poorly executed. At first we were impressed. The sand does not get wet, it is pretty crazy. It takes all of 15 seconds to go through all of the sand. The next step is what kills this product. There is a little 1 Teaspoon sized scoop with a filter on the bottom to scoop out the sand. What winds up happening is that you are scooping up tiny amounts of the moon sand and trying to get it back into an equally small bottle. this process takes about 15 minutes and you make a huge mess between the water and the sand getting everywhere. All the while your child is anxiously waiting to do it again. This process was tedious, frustrating, & aggravating. Consider yourself warned, if I could I would give this product negative stars.

I don't like to clean and neither does my child. This toy's fun time to clean time ratio is nearly 50/50. Not ideal for people like me. However, it really is amazing to watch the sand come out completely dry. Overall, it was a short-lived toy who's thrill is already gone, one month after opening. I suppose there are kids that will be enthralled for much longer than my kid and the ratio will then be worth it.
